In between Christmas dinners and nearly a champagne overdose I found some time to test the award winning foundation and celebrities' favourite: Oxygenetix Foundation. Kourtney Kardashion swears by it and many articles in the media were released about this product. I was super excited when the company sent a bottle of this miraculous foundation for me to try it out.
So what is it that makes this foundation so special?
The company developped the product working with plastic surgeons, dermatologists and scientists. They created a foundation that is actually good for your skin, preventing breakouts, stimulating the healing of the skin and covering all the blemishes you have. When you apply the foundation it should feel like a 'second breathable skin' thanks to the the oxygenating, natural components of the gel base, Vitamin E, grape seed extract and Salix alba extract. The difference between this foundation and other foundations is that other foundations will clog your pores and actually make your skin problems worse while Oxygenetix Foundation will heal your skin. It also provides SPF25 UVA/UVB protection so you can easily wear this foundation in summer and it is supposed to be waterproof (swim up to 90 minutes). Even after a scrub, microneedling, chemical peels etc the foundation can be worn and will calm the skin down, preventing redness.
Sounds too good to be true right? A foundation that heals your skin and nourishes it while covering acne and imperfections. That is exactly why I had to try it out!
You can go for the Oxygenetix Foundation or the Oxygenetix Foundation Acne Control. The difference is that the second one will focus more on acne. It oxygenates the skin to simultaneously clear and conceal the frustrating condition of acne and contains 2% salicylic acid which will help to get rid of it. This formula protects damaged skin while exfoliating dead surface cells. They both have all the other benefits like being waterproof, breathable etc. I went with the first one.
They aslo have a moisturizer which unfortunately I didn't get to test.
These are the available shades, it was kinda hard to pick a shade on screen but I picked 'almond'. I love the fact that they have so many shades, also for my dark skinned girls !
The shade was slightly too orange for me but I could definately work around it, with some concealer and after contouring it was wearable. The texture is pleasant and it really feels like a 'second skin'. The foundation is light and doesn't suffocate my skin, normally after a whole day with a full face I can't wait to take it off but with Oxygenetix Foundation it feels like you are not even wearing any make-up ! Coverage was good although I don't really have any acne or a lot of pimples but the ones I did have were completely covered. I honestly was shoked about how good it made my skin look: smooth and doll-ish. After wearing the foundation for several hours everything was still in place, it did make me shine a little bit but I didn't powder off which I should have done. I also think it makes pores less visable and gives you a polished look. My first impression of this product is very positive. If it wasn't for the price I would consider switching my foundation for this one... I do think the formula of the foundation is good and I think it has the potential to improve skin problems. That's why I will keep using it and see how it will improve my skin.
